The Castle is a quaint bed and breakfast on Hwy 46 out in the middle of no where. It is South West of Austin located in the German town of New Braunfels. It is south of San Marcos and just north of San Antonio.
Currently we don’t have a map for its location from Austin. If you try to search for one on Mapquest or Yahoo, it is incorrect and extremely confusing. Here are the driving directions:
IH 35 South
Exit 189 aka: Loop 337 or Hwy 46 (curve around and make a general right)
Make a right onto Business 46 West (towards Boerne)
Then approx. 10-11 miles on right hand side you can see the Castle Gates
The drive is about an hour and half from Austin. Depending on traffic. Please be very cautious driving on Hwy 46 in the evening as the streets are frequented by deer that enjoy darting in front of vehicles.
This bed and breakfast is designed for those who are 21 and over. It is not a child safe place and the owner is strict and does not allow for unattended children. The castle is decorated with weapons that can present a danger to children. They also have many antiques and artifacts that add the atmosphere but can easily be broken. Along with the adult entertainment, we need to restrict the attendance of children to that of immediate families. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
